IP Officer.

Assay runs the IP function you cannot staff: AI drafts every analysis, named humans certify every conclusion.

Apparent linguistic quality is not
evidence of legal quality.

A model can write a fluent paragraph about a patent and be wrong in the one limitation that controls the legal result. So Assay never ships prose alone. Every statement carries one of six grades, and the grade tells you who stands behind it.

The instrument

One candidate deal, graded line by line.

Assignee of record confirmed; 2021 security interest released.
No recorded encumbrance blocks a field-limited exclusive license.
EP claims maintained in amended form after the 2024 opposition.
Owner is signaling divestment; a transaction within 2 to 3 quarters is plausible.
Inventorship chain across two institutions.

Rows from the synthetic demo corpus, rendered by the product itself. The recommendation is the cheap part; the grade beside it is what a general counsel is buying.

AI drafts. Named humans certify.

The boundary is enforced in code and in SQL. A forged request cannot promote a finding to attorney-reviewed, and every transition lands in an append-only audit log.

MedTech strategy & corporate development

License or build is a Chief IP Officer question, and most MedTech companies have nobody in that seat. Assay answers it with graded evidence you can put in front of counsel, and keeps answering it every quarter.

Technology-transfer offices

A portfolio you cannot shop for lack of capacity. We were your counterparty once.

IP boutiques & brokers

Manual research and buyer identification, billed by the hour, made repeatable.

Origin

Born in the operating room.

Before Assay we built APOLO: a retrofit that made surgical lamps follow the surgeon's hands. We validated it with more than thirty clinicians and biomedical engineers, and filed the patents ourselves. The hardest part was never the engineering. It was answering, with confidence, who already owned the space.

APOLO is paused. Its patents, its hexagon and its palette live here: each cell in the array is one claim, lit only when the evidence reaches it.
